Team Canada was eliminated by Czechia today in the quarter-finals putting an end to their World Junior Championship bid.

Minten And Canada Eliminated

Today was a rough day for Team Canada as despite dominating Czechia for most of the game today, they were unable to bring home the win. The game-winning goal was scored with just 11 seconds left in the third period after taking an impossible deflection.
CZECHIA SCORES WITH 11 SECONDS LEFT!

Jakub Štancl gets his second of the game after a crazy bounce into the Canada net.

This broke the hearts of Canada and despite a strong tournament from seemingly every player, they will be going home empty-handed.

Minten Comments On The Loss

After the loss, Team Canada captain Fraser Minten, a 2022 2nd-rounder to the Toronto Maple Leafs, broke down when commenting on the heartbreaker.
A dejected Fraser Minten, «It feels like the world's ending a bit..»
"It feels like the world's ending a bit. Such an unbelievable opportunity for all of us in our careers. You never really know if you're gonna get another look representing your country or playing on such a global stage."
Fraser Minten: "The expectations are really high, but they're not higher from the outside than they are from us individually. We want to win more than anyone else wants us to win. It's heartbreaking."

While this is brutal for everybody on the team, many are looking to take this as a learning experience and while this was disappointing, every player involved in the tournament should be better for it when it is all said and done.
