Awful news for a player coming off of a breakthrough season last year. According to the New York Post, Filip Chytil has returned to Czechia as he continues the next step in his recovery.

Rangers Young Star Returns Home to Continue Recovery

Chytil scored 22 goals and 45 points in 2022-23, leading to high hopes for him from the New York Rangers. After just 10 games this season, Chytil went on injured reserve and hasn't played since due to a concussion. He's now home in Czechia for what's being described by the New York Post as a "reset."
"Industry sources have framed the decision reached in conjunction by the 24-year-old center and the Rangers organization as a 'reset,' in which Chytil will continue skating on his own under the supervision of the trainer and skills coach with whom he works in the offseason."

"The decision, reached mutually by Chytil's camp and team hierarchy, will allow No. 72 to experience the next phase of his recovery at home in a familiar environment where he will be surrounded by friends and family."

Chytil Returns Home to Continue Concussion Recovery

Chytil was injured in a game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Nov. 2 of this year. It's not exactly clear how the injury occurred, although he did have a collision with Jesper Fast at one point in the game, but continued to play. There is currently no timeframe set for Chytil's return.
