In a recent paper for the Seattle Times, reporter Geoff Baker confirmed that the Seattle Kraken are being sued for trademark violation over their Winter Classic jersey.

The Kraken have allegedly broken a trademark law with their Winter Classic jersey.

Paul Kim, who filed the lawsuit, bought the rights to the Seattle Metropolitan in 2014.

According to Paul Kim, who filed the lawsuit, the red "S" on the jersey is similar to the Seattle Metropolitan jerseys, whose rights he has owned since 2014.

"NEW from @GeoffBakerTIMES: A lawsuit filed against the Kraken's ownership in U.S. District Court alleges that the Kraken violated trademark rights in the design of their NHL Winter Classic jerseys."

Winter Classic jerseys are often used to celebrate a team's history, which is exactly what's happening here. However, it looks like Kim saw an opportunity to make money.

It would be sad to see the Kraken forced to change their jerseys, only days before the game takes place, especially considering all the hype around that great design. However, they shouldn't have used it in the first place, as they don't have the rights to that logo.

Do you think the Kraken will be forced to change their Winter Classic jersey?
