The Chicago Wolves, an AHL team, were delivered a massive punishment to their Head Coach Bob Nardella. Nardella has been suspended for 10 games by the AHL for using homophobic language towards an official.

Chicago Wolves head coach Bob Nardella has been suspended 10 games by @TheAHL for directing homophobic language at an official during a game on Saturday.

Nardella will only be able to participate in non-game day practices until January 6th. The move signifies the AHL's commitment to inclusivity by putting a severe punishment on harassment and unethical behaviour.

In a press release, the AHL says it "is committed to building a culture that is safe, inclusive and free from abuse, harassment and all forms of unethical behavior or misconduct."

Nardella can participate in non-game day practices and return to the Wolves bench on Jan. 6.
