Mikko Rantanen Furious After Teammate's Father Takes Shots at Him
Well this is awkward. Mikko Rantanen of the Colorado Avalanche is calling out a teammates' father after some remarks made about Rantanen during a podcast.
Rantanen Not Happy with Teammate's Father
Following a 6-5 win over the Calgary Flames last night in which Rantanen broke out of an offensive slump with a goal and two assists, he took the microphone to respond to the father of Artturi Lehkonen, who said in a recent podcast that Rantanen didn't train as hard this summer as he usually does.
"One of our Finnish NHL player's dad was talking shit about me in media, that I didn't train last summer like I used to do. He was making things up. That was for him. If you talk shit, it's going to come back at you."
Ismo Lehkonen is a former pro hockey player, current coach, and often appears on podcasts and other media in Finland to talk hockey. It appear his comments on Rantanen struck a chord.
Rantanen Addresses Remarks Made by Teammate's Father
As for Artturi Lehkonen, he is still recovering from injury and is believed to be still 6 to 8 weeks away from skating again. It must be awkward for him to be caught in the middle of all this. I sense an interesting conversation involving the three parties happening soon.
