After a brutal loss to the struggling Senators, Paul 'Biznasty' Bissonnette went in on the Leafs for their poor defensive play.

Bissonnette Says Leafs Need to Play Together After Loss to Senators

The Leafs clearly are capable of winning tough games, as they have shown with a few comeback wins this season. However, those wins always come on the back of stellar offensive performances. This is an unreliable way to win, and it proved so last night as the Leafs dropped a 6-3 loss to the Senators after they scored a flurry of goals late to secure the game.
Paul Bissonnette, a TNT analyst and avid Leaf fan, had some choice words regarding the Leafs' defensive play in a segment on TNT.
"It's just ugly."

"It's just lost coverage, no sticks in lanes, no commitment to blocking shots, not protecting the most dangerous area of the ice, which we call the house, not taking away time and space, awful gaps, not protecting the defensive blueline...the list goes on and on and on."

"It's disgusting, and if they keep playing like this, they're probably going to miss the playoffs."
The strong call-out is what every Leaf fan is thinking right now, as the Leafs continue to give up goals left and right.

Not a Goaltender Issue in Toronto According to Bissonnette

Bissonnette also described how he didn't think the issue was in the net for the Leafs, as some like to scapegoat the goaltenders in Toronto. He thinks that it is entirely a defensive zone breakdown that is causing all their issues.
"It's a defensive zone, defensive structure, and a team commitment to playing defense issue. And if it's not addressed, like I said, it's going to get uglier, and uglier and uglier."

Sheldon Keefe might agree with Biz. After the game, he was asked if he was concerned about the struggles of John Klingberg, and what they needed to do to help get him better. Keefe had a blunt assessment of the situation.
"Yes."

"We need to protect him better."
