The Montreal Canadiens have made a decision on what David Reinbacher will do next season.

Canadiens Draft Reinbacher

Last summer, the Montreal Canadiens took David Reinbacher with the fifth overall pick which shocked many.

Many thought that it was down to Reinbacher or the high-upside Matvei Michkov but ultimately, the Canadiens took their guy at five.

With a prospect ranked as highly as him, the Canadiens think he could make an NHL impact very soon. However, it seems like they will need to wait a year before anything happens.

Canadiens Loan Reinbacher Back To Switzerland

Yesterday the Canadiens made their newest round of cuts and Reinbacher was amongst them, being loaned back to Switzerland.

The Canadiens have loaned J. Dobes, R. Kidney, S. Farrell and W. Trudeau to the Laval Rocket while D. Reinbacher has been loaned to the HC Kloten in Switzerland.

As David Reinbacher returns to play for HC Kloten in Switzerland, it's clear he made a strong impression on the Montreal Canadiens.

«To have such a calm presence like that shows a special level of maturity for a defenceman.»

While it is disappointing to see Reinbacher head back to Switzerland, it is encouraging to know that this will likely be his final season overseas before coming to the NHL in 2024-25.
