A former top pick was placed on waivers and has now cleared waivers sending him to the AHL.

Zadina Clears Waivers

Yesterday, the Detroit Red Wings placed 2018 6th overall pick Filip Zadina on waivers. Zadina was projected to go third overall in 2018 before a draft day catastrophe for him which saw Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Brady Tkachuk, and Barrett Hayton all get picked before him.
Today, it was announced that he has cleared waivers and will be sent to the AHL.
This means that all other 31 NHL teams had the opportunity to pick up Zadina for free but none did which is concerning for his career.
Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman said he tried to trade Zadina somewhere but no teams were interested.
If Zadina can find success in the AHL and finally get his feet under himself, he could potentially blossom into a nice 2nd line goal scorer but he has a long ways to go before he is there.
As seen on HockeyFeed - Filip Zadina has cleared waivers
