The Florida Panthers shared some sad news concerning Patric Hornqvist in the last few minutes.

Hornqvist Retires

After 901 games in the NHL, he announced his retirement after suffering two concussions in the last year.

As reported by Puck Empire:

"Patric Hornqvist has retired from professional hockey at the age of 36, after suffering two concussions last season.

Hornqvist played 901 games in the NHL with Nashville, Pittsburgh, and Florida, scoring 264 goals and 543 points in that span from 2008-2023. He won two Stanley Cups.

Hornqvist was the last pick of the entire NHL draft back in 2005. Quite the career."

This is sad news for the hockey community, who see yet another player retire because of head injuries, a real burden in the sport.
