The New Jersey Devils are inching closer to contention, but it appears one notable player won't join them once they make it.

Talks Picking Up on Sharangovich

Tom Fitzgerald is one of the most aggressive GM's in the league, and while his rebuild took years, it appears to be near its end. The Devils made it to the second round last season, and with their roster only improving, it seems they're posied to go even further very soon.

With the additions of players like Timo Meier, and the development of players like Dawson Mercer and Alexander Holtz, spots are running out for top-nine forwards, and it appears Yegor Sharangovich may have lost his.

Sharangovich expressed displeasure after the season ended due to his decrease in ice time, and the 25-year-old could be a very hot commodity on the market.

Although he had a down 2022-23 season, in 2021-22 he scored 24 goals, and was on pace for 26. He could possible become a 30-goal scorer in the right situation.

With the Devils seemingly ready to move on, it is safe to say Sharangovich will likely change destinations before opening night puck drop.
