After a crushing first-round loss with the Rangers, Panarin clearly had to reevaluate some things.
He needs to walk a fine line in his home country of Russia amidst tensions because he is an outspoken critic of Vladimir Putin.
He took out some of the tension by shaving his head, leaving his luscious curly locks behind, and he has now revealed the somewhat disturbing reason why.
Rangers forward Artemi Panarin had his head shaved bald recently due to 'extreme evil & negative energy' that was in his hair, according to those close to him.
Panarin decided to make the change after the Rangers were eliminated in round one, as he wants to enter a new era in his quest for a Stanley Cup.

This 'extreme evil and negative energy' can be summed out to a couple of things, one of which is likely the tension in Russia. While he may look a little different, hopefully he is still the same superstar player that commands the third highest salary in the league.
