Wilson a "big part of their future"
On the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman broke the silence regarding
Tom Wilson trade rumours.
With the Capitals in somewhat of a no-mans land regarding contention, many expected Wilson, who has one year left on his deal paying him $5.166-million annually to find himself in new threads.

Players of his archetype fetch big hauls, and it would have been logical for the Capitals to capitalize.
It now seems, however, that Wilson will be a
big part of their future, and that he'll be sticking around in Washington.
Capitals fans will have to hope that their rebuild goes well, as Wilson and teammates Backstrom and Ovechkin will seek another Stanley Cup before it is too late.
