Well, it looks like we've got a new player in the fold to become the new home of the Arizona Coyotes, and it's not who you'd expect.

Hockey Returning to the State of Connecticut?

Hartford, Connecticut, isn't generally known for being a massive sports market, and competing against cities like Houston and Kansas City for a team isn't an easy task. Despite that, the Governor of Connecticut is now making a hard push to bring hockey back to Hartford.

Ned Lamont, the Governor of the state, spoke on the topic recently.

«This is a great hockey state and a great hockey town, it's evidenced by the passion we have for the Whalers going back years — still one of the best selling jerseys. I think we can guarantee them a very strong market right here, and a government that's ready to come and be their partner.»

Lamont also said he plans to speak with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, who has spoken with numerous suitors already.

Whatever destination the Coyotes end up in, it's clear they will be in a market that wants them badly.
