With the Penguins having a GM vacancy, there are a lot of rumors regarding who their next GM will be. Maybe it will be a former Pens GM...

Penguins GM Hunt Heats Up

Jason Botterill has had quite the career. From being a first-round draft pick to being the GM of the Buffalo Sabres, Botterill has done it all as a hockey personality.

Botterill was the interim GM in 2014 for the Penguins after there was a GM vacancy. Botterill was then demoted to Assitant GM when the Penguins hired the prestigious Jim Rutherford.

At the moment, Botterill is the Assistant GM of the Seattle Kraken and helped them establish themselves in their second season as a franchise.

Josh Yohe, a writer for the Penguins, thinks Botterill should be the obvious choice.

Yohe thinks that Botterills history with the club is one of the key reasons why he should be the next GM and that Botterill has a successful track record building contending teams.
