Maple Leafs Fans Outraged by Matthews Jersey Spotted in Crowd

Maple Leafs fans have fought off rumors for years that their prized possession, Auston Matthews, will leave Toronto once he becomes a Free Agent. Matthews, who hails from Arizona, has long been rumored to have a desire to return home once his contract with Toronto is up.

Feeding into a rumor is one thing, and hoping a player signs with your team is all well and good, but buying a custom jersey of that player with your team? That's got to be one of the biggest jersey fouls.

Spotted at game five tonight in Toronto, this fan made and wore his own Arizona Coyotes jersey which read "Matthews, 34" on the back.

Whether this is just a case of being bored and halving too much money, or taking the whole "speak it into existence" thing way too far, we love this next level troll!

Matthews only has one more year on his massive contract with Toronto, so maybe this jersey could make more sense in about a years time.
