Nathan MacKinnon is one of the best players for Colorado, but he made a huge mistake yesterday that may have cost his team the series. The Avalanche will face elimination tomorrow after yesterday's 3-2 loss.

In the second period, MacKinnon got tripped up in the offensive zone, and the refs missed the obvious call. The 29-year-old completely lost control and let his emotions get the best of him, missing out on the backcheck.

While he was busy knocking his stick against the boards and screaming at the official, the Kraken got the puck, and the action quickly moved to the Avs' zone. They scored on the play.

The playoffs aren't the time for this childish behavior. MacKinnon's mistake has a huge impact.

In five playoff games so far, MacKinnon has scored six points (3G, 3A).

We bet he'll do everything he can to redeem himself in the next game.
