Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has been under a lot of stress lately with the weight of another playoff series loss looming over him. He should've been a happy man after the Leafs win the other night, but instead took his frustrations out on a reporter.
Keefe Calls Out Reporter's Hypocrisy
After the Leafs took the series lead over Tampa Bay the other night, Keefe met with the media to discuss his team's performance. During this media availability, Keefe was asked why Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov wasn't made available for the media to speak with.
Have you been talking to (Andrei) Vasilevskiy in this series?
While both questions here are fair to ask, it seems a bit off for Keefe to get agressive with a reporter for doing his job as a journalist. Perhaps Keefe was just tired of the constant criticism towards his goalie, and felt like protecting him.
Either way, it's clear the stress of his job is catching up to him. Keefe deserves some well earned time off this summer.
