After a disappointing season in which the Pittsburgh Penguins missed the playoffs for the first time in 16 seasons, we all knew changes were coming and it didn't take them long to spring into action.

Moments ago, the penguins announced that they relieved general manager Ron Hextall, President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke and assistant general manager Chris Pryor of their duties.

Fenway Sports Group who own the team also released the following statement as part of the firing:

Pittsburgh will immediately start looking for replacements to their hockey ops department amid what will definitely be a busy offseason.

With the rumours already swirling around Toronto Maple Leafs general manger Kyle Dubas, is that who they made the opening for?
