The 2022-2023 season has been an interesting one for the Nashville Predators, with long time general manager David Poile set to step down and more restructuring is going to happen.

Change is on the way for the franchise as news broke that a sale of the franchise was completed. Bill Haslam has finalized a purchase for the Predators for a price of $880 million. The deal is expected to close mid-May, pending a vote by the league's board of governors.

The deal with Haslam is a four-part purchase over three years—2023, 2024 and the third and fourth purchases in 2025. Haslam will take control of the Predators with the fourth purchase.

The acquisition price of $880 million will be the second-highest in the NHL, behind the $900 million Fenway Sports Group paid for the Pittsburgh Penguins in December 2021. The rumored sale of the Ottawa Senators is expected to challenge this price.

Forbes valued the Predators at $810 million in December, 23rd among the league's 32 teams.
