2 Canadian teams in the top 5 betting favorites to win the Stanley Cup

With the playoffs just around the corner, now is the time to lock in a pick to win the Stanley Cup, and the best time to place a good value bet on it. In the final stretch of the season, the NHL published its official list of betting odds to win the Cup.

Unsurprisingly, the Boston Bruins are the favourites of the field to win it all, which may still be good value considering their torrid pace this year, threatening to have the best record in NHL history. Two Canadian teams come next with the Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers. Two good value bets perhaps, as both teams have their obvious flaws, and obvious generational talents that can win them games.

To round out the value picks, the New Jersey Devils and Tampa Bay Lightning have astronomical odds for their team quality, especially the Lightning, which could possibly be considered the best playoff team of the cap era. With the longest odds to win it all, the Dallas Stars are all but guaranteed not to win.
