There's no question that Russian sports has a doping issue, and the issue continues this weekend after members of a top Russian junior hockey team reportedly produced positive doping tests.

"As it became known to 'SE', several players of 'Tolpar' tested positive for doping during the MHL playoffs," reported Sport-Express.ru.

The MHL is Russia's top junior league. Tolpar serves as a development team for the KHL's Salavat Ufa. Tolpar reached the semi-finals of the MHL playoffs this season, but was ultimately eliminated in four games of a best of 5 series against Omsk.

The report does not state how many players tested positive or what was found in the testing (to be completely honest, I'm surprised it's being reported by Russian media at all). It does state that anyone found using banned substances can be suspended from playing for up to four years. The roster consists of players ranging in age from 16 to 20 years of age. It does not appear that any members of the current Tolpar roster have been drafted by any NHL teams.
