No much went right for the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night as the team lost 5-2 to the Florida Panthers. But a play on Habs defenceman Justin Barron has many fans especially irate.

Barron was skating into the offensive zone with a clear lane to shoot. The Panthers' Radko Gudas was out of position, but decided to try a "hero slide" in order to stop the shot from happening. He wasn't successful. What he did succeed at was taking Barron out at the knees to send him crashing into the boards.

Many feel Gudas wasn't even going after the puck, but intended to do exactly what happened, recklessly take out Barron with little regard for his safety. There was no call on the play. It was enough that one fan at the Bell Centre took to yelling at Gudas as he was leaving the ice.

Gudas definitely plays with an edge and walks the line between clean play and dirty just about every single night. NO word on whether there might be any supplemental discipline on this one
