The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced on Thursday that they've suspended St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington two games for roughing/unsportsmanlike conduct against Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman.

The incident occurred after a goal was scored in the second period of Wednesday's game between the two teams. Hartman skates in front of the Blues net to go celebrate with his teammates and he accidently bumps into Binnington, causing all hell to break loose. Binnington then jumps Hartman as the scrum begins. Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury skates down the ice to try and fight the Blues netminder, but the officials got in between and wouldn't allow it to happen.

For his part, Binnington was given a two-minute minor for leaving the crease as well as a match penalty. Any match penalty that is given out during a game is automatically subject to review by the NHL.

Binnington will now miss St. Louis' games against Washington on Friday and a crucial divisional matchup against Winnipeg on Sunday. He'll be eligible to return next Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings.
