Former NHL coach Marc Crawford has, once again, found himself in hot water while behind the bench. Crawford is the current coach of the Swiss National League ZSC Lions. During a game against EHC Biel on Wednesday, Crawford absolutely lost it on the officials. He went on a profanity-laced tirade that included a perceived homophobic slur. Here's the video:

National League Director Denis Vaucher told Blick.ch that he saw the outburst on TV and has asked the league to investigate.

"I actually saw this. Marc Crawford crossed a red line with these discriminatory remarks," said Vaucher.

"It's not about taking the emotions out of ice hockey," Vaucher continued. "It is not uncommon for players or coaches to use flowery language to address the jury. In the heat of the moment you can say 'f--k' or other words in this style. But if you attack the referee personally, as is the case here, then that's more than trash talk."

Crawford was the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks during the infamous incident where Todd Bertuzzi sucker-punched Colorado's Steve Moore from behind, effectively ending his career. He was specifically named in Moore's lawsuit against Bertuzzi and the Canucks that was settled out of court. Crawford's last position in the NHL was as an assistant with the Chicago Blackhawks. He left the organization in 2019 after at least four players brought forward stories of abuse from Crawford in the past.
