This is the kind of moment that will last forever for a young hockey fan. An 11-year-old boy from Saskatchewan has received a special gift from the phenom expected to go 1st overall in the upcoming NHL draft after doing Connor Bedard the solid of letting him borrow some hockey socks.

Dillon Serdachny and his team, the Yorkton Terriers, had just won the George Watson U-11 tournament in Regina last Sunday when he and his father heard that Bedard was preparing for a training session that very moment and had forgotten his socks.

"Dad was like, 'Get out your socks, you can give him your socks,'" Dillon told CBC News.

So, Bedard was given the socks for his training session, while Dillon got a photo with the guy who's most likely to be the NHL's next star. Bedard also gave the boy the stick he used during his session as a way to say thanks, and returned the socks with a fresh signature.

"I was speechless!" Dillon told CBC News. "My goal is to make the NHL and be a hockey player like Connor Bedard."

Despite the accolades Bedard has already received, it appears he's staying humble. He often refuses to talk about himself when discussing which team he's playing for, explaining that hockey's a team sport and it's not about him.
