Hot mic incidents seem to be a real issue for the NHL this year, and the issues continue. A video posted to the internet Tuesday night shows a feed for the Colorado Avalanche game that was taken early by ESPN+. The broadcast was still a few minutes away from starting, and one of the announcers was not aware that his mic was on and broadcasting live.

"Dude, that seagull, oh my god. Dirty bastard," you can hear the announcer saying.

"I don't even know, like, do seagulls live at the dump here in Colorado," he continues. "Like, where do they live, where's their house?"

You can then vaguely hear someone in the background ask a question, although it's very hard to make out.

"In a sec I do," replies the announcer. "First, I want to know where the f--k seagulls live."

Again, a barely audible reply and then you hear the announcer say "they don't live in a nest, they have webbed feet! They have to live on the ground."

That's where the video cuts off.

I'm no ornithologist, but seagulls definitely make nests. Anyway, it appears ESPN+ and the NHL may want to make sure microphones are turned off in the future before a broadcast actually begins.
