During a recent article on 'The Fourth Period', David Pagnotta mentioned that according to his sources, the Edmonton Oilers are interested in 33-year-old defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk from the Anaheim Ducks. He also mentioned three other blue liners that the Oilers have been linked to in recent weeks, as has been known, Joel Edmundson, John Klingberg and Jakob Chychrun.

"Oilers GM Ken Holland wants to bolster his blueline, but is also looking for a second-line winger and a bottom-six forward to add to his roster." Pagnotta said.

He added, "The Oilers have expressed legitimate interest in Montreal Canadiens defenceman Joel Edmundson, as multiple outlets have reported, as well as Arizona Coyotes star Jakob Chychrun and both Kevin Shattenkirk and John Klingberg of the Anaheim Ducks."

Shattenkirk, a native of New Rochelle (New York), has appeared in 31 games for Anaheim this season, putting up nine assists, 28 penalty minutes and is a minus-three. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st and if he is to be moved before March 3rd's deadline, the Ducks will need his permission as he has a modified no-trade clause with a 12-team no-trade list.
