On Friday, the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals unveiled their primary logos for the 2023 NHL Stadium Series.

The game is set to be played on February 18th at Carter Finley Stadium in Raleigh (North Carolina). Originally, the Hurricanes were supposed to host the game in 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the NHL temporarily re-aligning the divisions for that season, the league decided to move the game to 2023.

Carolina's logo for the game is similar to their primary logo that was worn between 1997 and 2022, only being used this season on their 25th anniversary uniforms. The difference between that logo and the one in the image below is the two-toned colour scheme (red and black), which has been a common theme with Stadium Series jerseys in most years.

Interestingly enough, this is the exact same logo that featured on a leaked jersey prior to the Hurricanes' original plans of hosting the game in 2021. It appears that the Canes will just be using that jersey, rather than creating an entirely new one, which makes sense if the team has already bought a massive amount of them a couple of years ago.

As for Carolina's opponent, the Washington Capitals, they will be wearing their 'Weagle' logo on their uniforms in a two-toned colour scheme of white and blue. The Capitals' 'Weagle' logo was first introduced in 2007 and has been worn as a shoulder patch on their home and away uniforms ever since.

As mentioned, the 2023 NHL Stadium Series is set for Saturday, February 18th at 8 p.m. ET and can be viewed on ABC in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada.
