The Montreal Canadiens took on the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night and early on in the first period, Habs rookie forward Anthony Richard scored his first career goal in the NHL.

Having the surname 'Richard' and playing for the Canadiens brings up a lot of memories for fans of the team with Maurice 'Rocket' Richard and Henri 'Pocket Rocket' Richard, but there isn't any relation between the two legends and Anthony.

The 26-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Canadiens over the summer, but started the season in the AHL with the Laval Rocket. At the time of his call-up, Richard was leading the American Hockey League in goals with 18 in 27 games.
