According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Philadelphia Flyers have placed forward Lukas Sedlak on unconditional waivers for the purpose of having his contract terminated.

Sedlak, 29, was not with the Flyers at the morning skate on Saturday and it was revealed that the team granted him permission to return home to Czechia.

He told Flyers beat reporter Giana Han that he will more than likely be signing with Pardubice in the Czech Extraliga. His decision to return home to Czechia was for a few different reason including wanting to be close to family and his fiancée, who's in school and working and unfortunately couldn't come to North America with him.

The Ceske Budejovice native was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2011 and after three seasons with them between 2016 and 2019, he signed in the KHL, where he would go on to spend the next three seasons.

During the summer, he returned to the NHL, signing a one-year contract with the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche. Less than a week into the season, Sedlak was placed on waivers and subsequently claimed by the Flyers the next day.

In 30 games this season between Colorado and Philadelphia, Sedlak had eight points (three goals, five assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a plus-four.
