During his pre-game media briefing, Pittsburgh Penguins head coach shocked reporters and the hockey world when he said that defenceman Kris Letang will be a game-time decision and is available to return to the lineup for their game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.

Letang, 35, suffered a stroke less than two weeks ago and it was unclear when he would return, if at all. Earlier this week, he returned to practice and began to gear up for a return to game action.

The Montreal native was set to become an unrestricted free agent back on July 13th, but one week before hitting the open market, he decided to re-sign with the Penguins, inking a five-year deal worth $36.6 million ($6.1 million AAV).

In 21 games so far this season, Letang has 12 points (one goal, 11 assists), eight penalty minutes and is a minus-seven.
