Max Pacioretty's trade to the Carolina Hurricanes was unexpected by many, to say the least. Among all the hustle and bustle associated with the transaction, Pacioretty and his family had to go through the home selling and buying process once more, leading to his stunning $12 million estate in Las Vegas being listed.

The one-story home sits atop a massive basement, which Pacioretty and wife Ekaterina had renovated. When they purchased the house, it included a 15-car garage, which they deemed excessive, so they took about 2,000 square feet of the garage space and extended the basement; now totaling around 3,500 square feet.

On the sale, Pacioretty said: "We love our home. We put so much time and thought into the design. We designed it especially for our family and we are really sad to leave it. That being said, we are excited for the future new owners who will get to call this very special property home. As for us, we are excited about our next chapter in North Carolina."

Pacioretty had only recently moved into this mansion after selling a previous home, according to dirt.com. The pad measures just under 11,000 square feet and rests on about a half-acre. Pacioretty reportedly bought the lot for ~$6.4 million from Alex Pietrangelo.

After extensive renovations - on which 'no expense was spared' - Pacioretty is now seeking $12M, per the report filed about a month ago, making for a solid return on his investment.
