According to Gregory Beaud of Blick.ch, 12-year NHL veteran Riley Sheahan will reportedly sign with National League club EHC Biel-Bienne.

Note: the following quote is translated from French.
"HC Bienne is currently testing the market to hire a seventh foreigner for the end of the season. According to our information, a file is on the top of Martin Steiengger's pile: Riley Sheahan." Beaud said.

Sheahan, 30, was placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination by the Buffalo Sabres earlier this week and cleared the next day, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The St. Catherines (Ontario) native joined the Sabres for a second stint after signing a one-year deal with them this summer. Sheahan ultimately spent more time in the American Hockey League with Rochester than with the Sabres.
In six games with Rochester, he had three assists, while in two games with the Sabres, he didn't record any points.
EHC Biel-Bienne currently sit second in the National League, which is Switzerland's top division, with 14 wins, two overtime/shootout wins, one overtime/shootout loss and seven losses.
