Ahead of Thursday's clash with the Calgary Flames, the Montreal Canadiens announced that forward Brendan Gallagher won't suit up for the game and is being evaluated for a lower-body injury.

Gallagher, 30, didn't skate on Wednesday before the team left for their four-game road trip and also won't be at the morning skate today. In 22 games, the Edmonton native has eight points (three goals, five assists), ten penalty minutes and is a minus-three.
In related news, the Canadiens announced that they've placed forward Mike Hoffman on injured reserve.
Hoffman, 33, hasn't played since November 19th's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers after suffering a lower-body injury during the second period of that game. He remained on the bench for the third period, but did not play.
In 16 games this season, Hoffman has eight points (five goals, three assists), eight penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
Now that Hoffman was placed on injured reserve, it opened up a spot on the active roster. With that open spot, the Canadiens have called up forward Rem Pitlick from the Laval Rocket.
The 25-year-old has been up and down between Montreal and Laval a couple of times this season. He's recorded no points in seven games with the Canadiens and six points in nine games with the Rocket.
Puck drop for Thursday's game between Montreal and Calgary is set for 9 p.m. ET on TSN2, RDS and Sportsnet West.
