Certain plays are better left unmade, especially when your team is protecting a one-goal lead with less than a minute left. Carson Soucy ought to write that down, as he clearly did not practice discipline late and ultimately cost his team the win.

Leading 2-1 with ~30 seconds left in the game, the Kraken defender was battling with Pierre-Luc Dubois and just took it a step too far. Assessed a roughing penalty, Blake Wheeler scored on the ensuing powerplay and it happened to be the veteran's 300th of his career.
And Mark Scheifele would close it out for the Jets less than a minute into overtime, completing the comeback and putting a stamp on Soucy's ridiculously stupid play.

Also, don't be shocked if Soucy's name ends up on the Department of Player Safety's schedule tomorrow. There is a lot that players can get away with in the NHL, but sucker punching other guys in the back of their head is not included.
