The Edmonton Oilers announced today that forward Evander Kane is expected to miss the next 3-4 months in recovery from his gruesome injury suffered last night.

"[Oilers] forward Evander Kane has been placed on LTIR & is expected to miss 3-4 months. Mattias Janmark & Klim Kostin have been recalled from the
[Condors.] We wish Evander the best in his recovery process."

Kane's road to recovery will not be easy. The number of vital tendons and ligaments - with regards to hand dexterity - in the wrist is extraordinary. If there is any sort of structural damage whatsoever, Kane's playing career is in jeopardy, no question.
For his sake, we can only hope modern medicine and the specialists with whom he is working are up to the task.
