The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety have announced that Canadiens rookie Juraj Slafkovsky has been suspended for two games for boarding on Detroit Red Wings forward Matt Luff.

Luff is expected to miss the next 10-12 weeks with an upper-body injury, the Red Wings announced this afternoon.
Slafkovsky was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct on the play, late in the third period of Tuesday's game after hitting Luff from behind, who was in a vulnerable position near the Red Wings' bench.
The 2022 first overall pick will now sit out Wednesday's game against Vancouver and Saturday's game against Pittsburgh. He'll be eligible to return to Montreal's lineup next Tuesday against the New Jersey Devils.
