With the Ottawa Senators officially up for sale, it seems there's no shortage of interest. Even before the team was officially listed, there were rumours that actor Ryan Reynolds in interested, something Reynolds has not denied. Now, another name has emerged. While it may not be as recognizable as Reynolds', it appears the interest is very real.

According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, Jeff York of Farm Boy Stores has already met with the NHL about buying the Sens, and has been putting together a group of investors for the purchase. There is one issue, however.

"The NHL would prefer one owner with a large majority," said Garrioch.

Garrioch also mentions that not all of the investors York has onboard right now are local.

This isn't the first time the Senators have been up for sale. It is, however, the first time the team has been up for sale and has been in the black. When Ottawa was purchased by the recently deceased Eugene Melnyck back in 2003, it was in bankruptcy protection with the future of the team looking very bleak. That is no longer the case and there's bound to be more interest in the Senators.

If you're unfamiliar with Farm Boy, it is Canadian food retailer operating in the province of Ontario and based in Ottawa. The retailer markets itself as selling fresh produce and food products, with an emphasis in their branding on farm-to-table.
