Florida Panthers defenceman Aaron Ekblad has had a rough go when it comes to injuries in his career. The 26-year-old suffered a lower-body injury in March and was deemed week-to-week, but fortunately for the Panthers, he was able to return for the playoffs.

The 2022-23 season is just over a week old and Ekblad has sustained a lower-body injury for the second time in seven months. According to General Manager Bill Zito, Ekblad headed to long-term injured reserve after suffering a Grade 2 groin strain in Monday's loss to the Boston Bruins.
With Ekblad being on long-term injured reserve, that means that he'll miss at least ten games and 24 days of the season. The earliest he can return to the Panthers' lineup is November 9th against the Carolina Hurricanes or November 12th against the Edmonton Oilers.
Ekblad, a native of Belle River (Ontario), has one goal, four penalty minutes and is a plus-one in three games so far this season.
