A former housekeeper is facing charges after admitting to stealing several items from the home of Vera Glagoleva, the deceased mother-in-law of NHL star Alexander Ovechkin. According to reports out of Russia, the housekeeper was hired to clean the home that is now lived in by ballerina and actress Anna Nakhapetova, the sister of Ovechkin's wife. Nakhapetova contacted police after noticing items had gone missing.

Among the stolen items is an expensive Gucci handbag, as well as a collectible puck that was signed by Ovechkin. Once the thefts were noticed, police said it wasn't difficult to find the culprit as the stolen items were being sold online using a popular Russian classifieds site. The ads included a phone number for the suspect. The housekeeper admitted to six cases of theft from the home in total.
Glagoleva was a very popular actress in Russia until her death four years ago at the age of 61 from cancer. Her second husband was Kirill Shubsky, the father of model, actress and producer Anastasia Shubskaya, who is Ovechkin's wife.
