The Washington Capitals reportedly are signing forward Sonny Milano. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the deal is a one-year, one-way contract worth $750K.

Milano will be starting in the AHL, and it will be interesting to see if he can work his way into an everyday position in the NHL. The 26-year-old failed to earn an NHL contract this summer, and was not signed after being given a professional tryout with the Calgary Flames during the preseason.

The inconsistent forward had 14 goals and 34 points in 66 games last season with Anaheim, but only had 5 points over his final 27 games last season. Milano has the potential to put up points, especially when he is surrounded by talent, but only time will tell if this correlates to success in Washington.
