No matter what team he coaches, John Tortorella wants his roster to be mean and hard to play against and that will be no different in Philadelphia.

During an appearance on the 32 Thoughts Podcast with Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek, Flyers forward Cam Atkinson said that Torts doesn't want the team getting pushed around and wants teams to be aware when the Flyers are coming into their building.
"We're not going to get pushed around next year and going into these games especially on the road, Torts has said it and I continue to say it, people are going to know when the Flyers are going to come to the building," Atkinson said.

The Flyers are expected to be a bottom-five team in the NHL by the time the 2022-23 season wraps up in April and they'll definitely be in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes ahead of the 2023 draft. Despite the expectation that the season is going to go poorly, the Flyers want to be remembered for one thing this year, their toughness and physicality.
Philadelphia will open their 2022-23 schedule on Thursday night at home against the New Jersey Devils.
