On Sunday, it was reported that Chad Drown, a trainer with the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League, had been fired after being charged for contacting a minor to commit a sexual offense. Since the firing, more has been learned about the situation.

According to Fox Sports reporter A.J. Perez, Drown was arrested in a decoy operation in the southern end of California's Central Valley. He is facing two felony counts and one misdemeanour related to his attempt to set up a meeting with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual act. He faces up to eight years in prison if convicted of the charges.

For those unaware, the Condors are the AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. They tweeted out a brief note yesterday saying that they are working closely with the Condors regarding the situation, and are in full support of the team choosing to relieve him from his duties. Drown had served as a trainer with the Condors for the past four seasons.
