If you were looking forward to hearing Ray Ferraro on TSN broadcasts this upcoming season, the veteran broadcaster and former NHLer has some bad news for you. Ferraro took to his Twitter account Tuesday morning to say that he was leaving TSN after 14 years with the network in order to find a better work/life balance. He is not giving up broadcasting completely, however.

"Want to thank @TSN_Sports or an unforgettable 14 years. I needed to find some balance in my life – I'm giving up some work to spend more time with my 4 boys, 2 grandkids and of course Cammi," said Ferraro. "Looking fwd to yr 2 on
@ESPN and hope to pop on once in a while here in the future."

"So many to people to thank behind the camera that always helped me out. Some lifelong friends. And to those on air, I'm incredibly grateful, in particular to
[Gord Miller]. An amazing partner and friend. To those who supported, argued, watched and listenedthank you."

Ferraro married Cammi Granato, the first woman (along with Angela James) ever to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, in 2004. The couple has two sons, while Ferraro also had two other sons from a previous marriage. Granato was a broadcaster with NHL on NBC for a number of years, and currently serves as the assistant general manager of the Vancouver Canucks.

Ferraro spent 18 seasons in the NHL with various team, including the Hartford Whalers, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, LA Kings, Atlanta Thrashers, and St, Louis Blues.
