The NHL's 2022-23 season is set to get underway at 2 p.m. ET on Friday when the San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators face-off in Prague, with a second meeting coming on Saturday afternoon.

Back here in North America, teams continue to prepare their rosters for opening night, which is October 11th and that means some players will have to clear waivers if they are to be assigned to the AHL.
Everyone on waivers on Wednesday cleared and have been assigned to their respective American Hockey League teams. Meanwhile, a total of nine players have been placed on the waiver wire on Thursday including 2017 seventh overall pick, Lias Andersson.
Let's take a look at those nine players on waivers today:
Keith Kinkaid - Boston Bruins
Joona Koppanen - Boston Bruins
Vinni Lettieri - Boston Bruins
Daniel Renouf - Boston Bruins
Jayson Megna - Colorado Avalanche
Slater Koekkoek - Edmonton Oilers
Calvin Pickard - Edmonton Oilers
Lias Andersson - Los Angeles Kings
Jonny Brodzinski - New York Rangers
