Minnesota Wild defenseman Mathew Dumba called out the NHL regarding their attempts to handle racism in the league. The veteran blue-liner is asking the NHL to do a better job of erasing racism from the sport. He even went as far as calling it an "old boys club."

"It just goes back to everything that's been done for a long, long time in the same fashion," Dumba said, per John Wawrow of The Associated Press. "You know, the old boys' club and them dictating who is and who isn't welcome. Yeah, I'm sick of it."

Dumba is of Filipino descent, with both of his parents having strong roots within the race. The 28-year-old has been one of the most active NHL stars asking for more awareness of racism in hockey. Along with this, he was the first NHL player to take a knee during the U.S. national anthem in protest during 2020.

The electric defenseman is looking to build on last season's performance after putting up 27 points in 57 games. If Dumba could stay healthy for an entire season, he could find himself in the top 15 for points by a defenseman, but he has struggled with injury problems throughout his entire career.
