The ongoing contract saga between the Dallas Stars and forward Jason Robertson has finally come to an end, as the two sides have reportedly agreed to a multi-year extension.

As per Kevin Weekes, the two sides have agreed to a four-year deal that will see Robertson carry a cap hit of $7.75 million. This is a very team friendly deal for the Stars, as most, including Weekes himself in recent days, assumed the 23-year-old would get a deal that paid him well north of $8 million annually.
Getting this deal done ahead of the 2022-23 season is huge for the Stars, as Robertson is undeniably the most talented forward on their roster. Despite being relatively unknown heading into his rookie campaign in 2020-21, Robertson quickly showed everyone just how good of a player he is, and he's only continuing to get better. In just 128 career games, he has managed 58 goals and 125 points, and should only continue to improve on those totals in the coming years.
