After signing a professional try-out contract last month with Seattle, Dutch-born forward Daniel Sprong has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the Kraken worth $750,000 at the NHL level.

Sprong, 25, became an unrestricted free agent this summer after splitting time with Washington and Seattle last season. The Kraken must've liked what they saw from him after they acquired him at the trade deadline from the Capitals, so they signed him to a PTO.

In 63 games between Washington and Seattle, Sprong put up 20 points (14 goals, six assists), eight penalty minutes and finished the season with an even-rating.

When Sprong stepped on the ice for his NHL debut in October 2015, he became only the third Dutch-born player to play in the National Hockey League, following in the footsteps of Ed Kea and Ed Beers.
