When the Philadelphia Flyers announced the hiring of John Tortorella as their head coach this June, it was clear that they did so to try and improve the culture within their dressing room. While the season has yet to start, Torts has made it clear things will need to change in a big way for his new team to be successful.

«I have major concerns about what goes on in there (dressing room),» Tortorella said. «Before we even step on the ice, situations and standards and accountability in the room is forefront. You can't get squat done on the ice until you get your room straightened out and I think we have a little bit of work to do there.»

The fact that this type of quote is coming out before the 2022-23 season has even begun has to be worrisome for Flyers fans. It is clear that their dressing room is lacking leadership, something Tortorella essentially admitted too as he let it be known he is in zero rush to name a captain. Though there has been some hope he may be able to get the Flyers back on track, the season ahead could be a long one for them.
