After spending the 2021-22 season with the NHL's newest club, the Seattle Kraken, forward Riley Sheahan is returning to the Buffalo Sabres.

The Sabres announced on Wednesday that they've agreed to terms with Sheahan on a one-year, two-way contract worth $950,000 at the NHL level.

Sheahan appeared in 53 games with Buffalo during the shortened 2021 season. He was drafted in the first round in 2010 by the Red Wings and has spent parts of eleven seasons in the NHL with Detroit, Pittsburgh, Florida, Edmonton, Buffalo and Seattle.

In 69 games with the Kraken last season, the St. Catherines (Ontario) native had seventeen points (four goals, thirteen assists), two penalty minutes and was a plus-six.
